It was my original belief that this was a "no experience necessary" job announcement, which would have been pay grade GS-07. It has been brought to my attention that there is a requirement for one year's experience to apply for the jobs in the announcement, as it is pay grade GS-09.
Without any intent to contradict the requirements given in the job announcement, I would like to encourage applicants with any experience in crime scene, latent print, or criminal history experience to apply. Please consider listing internships and volunteer work. Also, I have been assured that an MS degree with strong laboratory experience and science background may fulfill the experience requirement without any actual service in a crime lab. To interested persons, I would suggest you submit an application. Failure to qualify on one application will not affect future applications in any way. List anything that would count as experience and justify it. The absolute worst that could happen is you don't make the list this time, but you are free to apply without prejudice for future announcements.http://www.usajobs.gov/GetJob/ViewDetails/323491600
