Forensic Identification Training Seminars, LLC (FITS) will:
1. Advertise the seminar and accept student registrations.
2. Provide instruction in the theory and practice of latent print identification including both lecture and practical exercises.
3. Provide all training materials to be used in the class. Each student will receive a three-ring binder, class handouts, and a copy of the final roster.
4. Provide two complimentary enrollments in the class for the Host Agency in return for hosting this seminar.
5. Issue a Certificate of Successful Completion to each student who demonstrates acceptable performance.
6. Maintain training records and files related to the class.
7. Provide necessary documentation to obtain P.O.S.T. credit, if applicable.

Host Agency will:
1. Provide the training site and standard audiovisual aids as required by the instructor.
2. Provide FITS with a map for distribution to students showing the airport, major roads, class site, and nearby hotels and restaurants, including a list of no more than three hotels near the training site which will give reasonable rates to police personnel attending from out of town.
3. Notify neighboring agencies in an effort to assure that interested personnel are aware of the class.
4. Obtain P.O.S.T. credit, if applicable.

Miscellaneous:
1. Each student will be required to attend a minimum of 90% of the class unless other satisfactory arrangements are made with the instructor prior to being absent from the class.
2. Each student will be required to demonstrate an acceptable level of performance in the class material prior to receiving a Certificate of Successful Completion.
3. Each student should bring a magnifying glass and ridge counters to class.
4. In the event the class is cancelled by the host agency less than 90 days prior to the first day of class, the host agency agrees to reimburse FITS for any non-refundable expenses incurred.

6. The class will be a full five-day, forty-hour class, with class hours approximately 0800-1700.
7. Every effort will be made by FITS to obtain the ideal number of registrants (twenty-five). However, FITS reserves the right to cancel the class if insufficient paid registrations are received to cover expenses.
8. Registration fee for students (other than Host Agency’s complimentary enrollments) will be $595 US Dollars for RSW, or $675 US Dollars for RSW Plus!

 

Requirements for "SPONSORED" (in-service) classes:

Forensic Identification Training Seminars will:

1. Provide instruction in the theory and practical application of latent print examination.
2. Provide all visual aid materials (posters, power point images) to be used in the lecture portion of the course.
3. Provide students with binders, a course outline, and handouts.
Handouts are approximately 150 pages (double-sided); course outline is approximately 60 pages (single-sided)
4. Provide latent print comparison exercises to be used during the course.
5. Provide final examinations to be completed on the last day of the course.
6. Maintain training records and files related to the course.
7. Issue a Certificate of Successful Completion to each student who demonstrates acceptable performance.


AGENCY, will:

1. Provide the training site and audio visual aid equipment required by the instructor.
(dry erase board or easel and easel pad; data projector to be used in conjunction with the instructor's laptop)
2. Register students for the course.
3. Provide morning coffee and refreshments for students.


Miscellaneous:

1. Each student will be required to attend a minimum of 90% of the course, unless other satisfactory arrangements are made with the instructor prior to being absent from class.
2. Each student will be required to demonstrate an acceptable level of performance in the course material prior to receiving a Certificate of Successful Completion.
3. AGENCY recognize that nonrefundable costs will accrue to the instructor including but not limited to air travel bookings, customized training materials, and time spent in preparation. AGENCY agree not to cancel the course within 90 days of the start date of the course.
4. The course has been scheduled for DATES: _____________________________.
5. The total fee due from AGENCY will be $9200 Dollars, payable to Forensic Identification Training Seminars, LLC (FEIN # 93-1268655), P.O. Box 31685, Tucson, Arizona, 85751-1685, payable Net 30 Days following the course.
6. The course will be a full five-day, forty-hour class.
7. The classroom will be set aside 24 hours per day for the course, with no other activities conducted in the room in the evenings, and will be capable of being secured at night.

A contract including the above agreements will be signed by FITS and the host agency in order to secure the dates of the workshop.  If a contract has not been signed, the dates are considered "tentative," and therefore remain available for other agencies to host this workshop.  However, if a course has been tentatively booked by one agency, that agency will be given notice that another agency is interested in those dates before being booked at the other location.
