Advanced Latent Print Comparison is a 3-day course that will provide the experienced latent print examiner a basis on which to build advanced comparison skills. This course is scheduled to be held August 6 - 8, 2001 at the Ocala Police Department Headquarters.

The comparison method to be taught will emphasize the utilization of all friction ridge information when comparing a fingerprint, palm print or footprint against another; information such as Level I, II and III ridge detail, including the edges of friction ridges and pore structure.

The physiology of friction skin; legal aspects of fingerprints, including past court rulings and the latest Daubert decisions; as well as expert courtroom testimony will also be addressed.

The fee for this 3-day course is $150.00 per student. Each student is responsible for bringing their own comparison magnifier. All other materials will be furnished.

The instructor is former FBI Supervisory Fingerprint Specialist Gary W. Jones who presently operates a private consulting service. Gary has over 37 years experience in fingerprints.
